JUST IN: Maple Leafs acquire Matt Murray from Senators
The trade is in the books.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have themselves their new starter in the crease.
They've officially acquired goaltender Matt Murray from the Ottawa Senators along with two draft picks in exchange for "future considerations".
Of course, this all but officially signals the end of the Jack Campbell era in Toronto.
Murray has two more years left on his current deal that has a $6.25 million cap hit; last season with Ottawa, posted a 5-12-2 record last season (before missing the final 28 games with an injury) with a 3.05 goals against average.
This is certainly an interesting move from general manager Kyle Dubas, who just made the move last week to rid themselves of another struggling and injury-prone net minder in Petr Mrazek.
