Leafs fan delivers a brutal beatdown in the crowd.
Things get violent after an NHL game.
A man that appears to be a fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs took matters into his own hands this week after another alleged altercation had taken place in the crowd following a National Hockey League game contested between the Washington Capitals and the aforementioned Maple Leafs.
A video that has made the rounds on social media shows an altercation between members of the crowd at Scotiabank Arena, one in which a man is struck several times while down on the ground. The altercation is already underway when the video begins and it shows a fan, who is wearing a #91 Maple Leafs jersey with the name of Maple Leafs captain John Tavares emblazoned on the back, jumping on top of a larger and older looking man with glasses. There are things being said in the early moments of the video but it's not entirely clear who is saying what or even what is being said in certain instances.
The man in the Maple Leafs jersey proceeds to deliver a series of stiff blows to the head and face of the larger man with glasses, striking him with enough force to leave him busted open as a result of the punches. After landing a few blows the fan in the Leafs jersey, who appears to be the aggressor based on the video alone, eases off the downed man but does continue to yell at him and hold him by his clothing.
In the end what appear to be other members of the crowd step in between those involved in the altercation and seperate the offending parties, and at the time of this writing it is unclear what, if anything, has come of this incident.
According to some reports online the man in the Maple Leafs jersey was provoked by the fact that the other man in the video had, allegedly, struck or touched a woman. The video does begin by showing a woman that appears to have either been knocked down or has fallen down in the seating area, but that isn't enough to corroborate those early reports just yet.
