According to multiple insider reports, the Toronto Maple Leafs have traded goaltender Petr Mrazek to the Chicago Blackhawks.
Hilarious... Leafs GM Kyle Dubas is forced to trade down 13 spots in the draft just to get rid of one of his own bad signings. Good grief...
Made in a vacuum though, this is a smart move for the Leafs. They free up $3.8 million in salary cap space both this season and next season, so this is a significant salary cap move by the Leafs. Maybe this paves the way for them to re-sign pending UFA Jack Campbell? Stay tuned.
UPDATE: And now it's official.
