Major update on Mark Scheifele ahead of Game 6.
Scott Arniel provides an official update on Mark Scheifele ahead of Game 6.
The Winnipeg Jets are being forced to deal with an unbelievably chaotic whirlwind on Saturday and at the center of that chaos is Jets star forward Mark Scheifele.
On Saturday morning the Jets announced that Mark's father, Brad Scheifele, had tragically passed away during the night on the eve of Game 6. The Jets were waking up prepared to play with their season on the line in Game 6 against the Dallas Stars but were instead put in a position where they had to rally around a grieving teammate dealing with an unimaginable tragedy.
When members of the Jets spoke to the media on Saturday it was unclear whether or not Mark would even play in Game 6 but, although nothing is official as of yet, there is now at least one good sign that Mark does intend to join his teammates on the ice tonight.
The Jets have arrived in the building to begin their preparations for Game 6 and alongside them is none other than Mark Scheifele himself.
Now keep in mind this doesn't mean that he will play tonight but it is a very good sign for the Jets that he is even able to get to the game under the horrible circumstances he has had to deal with.
Update: Jets head coach Scott Arniel confirms Scheifele is in for Game 6.
