The Toronto Maple Leafs continue to make big changes to their front office.

After the somewhat controversial departure of well respected former National Hockey League player Shane Doan, the Maple Leafs announced two more prominent figures in their front office would be leaving on Sunday.

The biggest news of the day is the departure of longtime Maple Leafs capologist Brandon Pridham which I reported earlier today, but the official announcement from the Maple Leafs also revealed that assistant general manager, player personnel Derek Clancey would also be leaving the organization.

Interestingly enough the Leafs announced that they had agreed to mutually part ways with Pridham but made no such announcement in the case of Clancey.

Here is the official announcement in full:

Toronto Maple Leafs General Manager John Chayka announced today further changes to the club's Hockey Operations Department. Assistant General Manager Brandon Pridham and the club have mutually agreed to part ways, while Assistant General Manager, Player Personnel Derek Clancey will also be departing the organization.

Although Pridham may not be a household name to the average Maple Leafs fan, fans who have closely followed the team over the years know that the Maple Leafs have often leaned on Pridham's well of knowledge when it comes to the National Hockey League's salary cap in order to maximize their cap space each season.

The mere fact that he spent 12 years operating in his role within the organization, doing so through multiple shifts in leadership, suggests that this will represent a major shift for the Maple Leafs moving forward. What shape that shift will take in the coming months and years under Chayka's leadership remains to be seen.
