Matthew Tkachuk reveals who the real captain in the family is.

Matthew says Brady's “C” doesn't matter.

It was the Battle of the Brothers on Sunday night as the Calgary Flames and Ottawa Senators faced off, meaning that brothers Matthew Tkachuk and Brady Tkachuk would also be going head to head.

It marked the first clash between the 2 brothers since Brady was named captain of the Ottawa Senators and in true big brother fashion Matthew decided to poke some fun at that fact during the game on Sunday. Matthew was asked about his brother being made captain and immediately took the opportunity to crack some jokes on the subject.

At first it may have seemed as though Matthew was trying to big league his brother, but by the time he reached the end of his joke it was obvious that he was being self deprecating at the same time.

"Deep down, he knows I still make the calls when we're together in the summer," said Matthew on Sunday. "He can be the captain for his team ... But he knows who's the captain in the summer. It's probably my Mom, honestly."

The 2 brothers were spotted on the ice discussing the topic during warmups and it was clear what they were discussing as a very animated Matthew was pointing at the letters on both of their chests. Matthews was asked about that conversation following the game and it was there that he cracked his joke while also adding that him and Brady were just laughing about the whole situation.
