Monster return demanded for Matthew Tkachuk as trade chatter heats up!
Imminent trade?

The clock is ticking for the Calgary Flames, however, it does not stop them from attempting to get the best return possible for forward Matthew Tkachuk.
As you know earlier this week, it was confirmed that Tkachuk had informed the Flames earlier that he was not interested in staying long-term with the club. The Flames filed for club-elected salary arbitration with the restricted free agent on Monday, giving the team more time to put a trade together. Calgary is looking to move him to a club where Tkachuk would sign an extension. He has reportedly provided a list of teams where he is willing to be moved with one source familiar with Tkachuk’s list said that St. Louis, Vegas, Florida, Nashville and Dallas are options. New Jersey and the New York Rangers are also among the other teams that have expressed interest in the past.
Eric Francis is not sure the list is accurate though he provided on Friday what the monster return price is for Tkachuk: “While discussions with every team are different, based on their personnel, the main goal is to land a top-six forward, a top prospect and a first-round pick.”
While it could be a trade similar to the one that took place when Jack Eichel was moved from the Buffalo Sabres to the Vegas Golden Knights, there is one huge difference. Eichel was pretty much willing to do anywhere. The Flames here are working with a limited pool of clubs that will be able to sign Tkachuk long-term.
The Stars have emerged as a potential destination for Tkachuk, and as Francis shared information on the return price, Andy Strickland commented on how Dallas remains in the mix.
Fans are getting a close eye on this as it feels like a trade will take place shortly…
