Jake DeBrusk is getting lots of interest ever since he requested a trade from the Boston Bruins. On Tuesday, TSN’s Ryan Rishaug reported as many as eight teams have already reached to the Bruins and inquired on the winger, with more teams are expected to check in later in the day.
However, thanks to Brad Marchand’s suspension and Anton Blidh injury, Bruins general manager Don Sweeney revealed that DeBrusk will be back in the lineup against the Detroit Red Wings tonight.
A change of scenery is what agent Rick Valette believes will be beneficial to his client. DeBrusk has recorded just three goals this season, with six points in 17 games. He was a healthy scratch on Sunday when the Bruins beat the Vancouver Canucks 3-2.
DeBrusk, who scored a career-high 27 goals in 2018-19, has scored just eight over the past two seasons. He has 70 goals and 140 points in 261 career NHL games.
He is a Edmonton native, with his father, former NHL Louie DeBrusk covering games over there. You have to expect that the Oilers could be linked to the trade chatter.
