Oilers fans expected to see forward Zach Hyman in uniform on Thursday when the Dallas Stars came to Edmonton.
On Tuesday, Hyman had been pulled out of the lineup just before warmups, and did not taken on the Ottawa Senators.
Insider Daniel Nugent-Bowman had noted yesterday morning that Hyman was expected to return.
But it didn’t happen that way as, once again, Hyman was not on the ice for warmups and did not play in the Oilers’ 4-1 win over the Stars.
Nugent-Bowman announced the sudden change ahead of the contest as the mystery of Hyman’s absence persists with his injury status being undisclosed.
The only hint that was given on Hyman’s absence came after Tuesday’s game when head coach Jay Woodcroft mentioned his forward was dinged up.
However with Hyman missing two games despite taking part in a full practice on Thursday has fans wondering what’s really going on with the forward.
Hyman has 29 goals and 72 points in 66 games for the Oilers this season. He is a key contributor to the depth up front and cannot be out too long with the playoffs just around the corner.
Edmonton is back in action on Saturday, against the Kraken in Seattle and we all hope to get a clear update on Hyman before then.
