Next big names on the trade block now that Eichel sweepstakes are over!

Fans are glad this is over: Jack Eichel was traded, along with a third round pick, to the Vegas Golden Knights early on Thursday. The Buffalo Sabres received a hefty return, which includes Alex Tuch, Peyton Krebs, a future first-round draft pick and a future second-rounder.

While this saga is over, hockey fans are already set for the next big trade and insider Elliotte Friedman revealed on the air of the Jeff Marek show on Sportsnet a list of other big names to watch out for on the trade market at the moment. He mentioned Dylan Strome in Chicago, Erik Brannstrom in Ottawa.

Marek was quick to ask about Tomas Hertl, whose name came up in trade chatter earlier this season when he sounded unsure about his future with the Sharks. Friedman however believes that Hertl is doing well at the moment in San Jose, which could sway his decision to stick with the team with a contract extension.

Friedman is basically saying fans will get more action on the trade market, possibly ahead of the deadline in March.
