NHL agents name the "Best run franchise in the NHL"

As fans of the National Hockey League we all have teams and players that we either cheer for or cheer against, but it's always more interesting to hear what those who work within the confines of the league think about these topics.

Earlier today we looked at the results of a poll of player agents who were asked who the worst run team in the NHL currently is, which produced some pretty embarrassing results for the NHL franchises that topped that list. Now however we will be looking at the opposite with NHL player agents answering a recent poll from The Athletic about who the best run team in the NHL currently is.

Once again the results here were very top heavy with the first place team receiving a massive 11 votes despite only 27 votes being cast in total with 32 NHL teams to choose from. It should perhaps come as no surprise then that the team to receive those 11 votes was the meticulously run Tampa Bay Lightning franchise, headed by general manager Julien Brisebois and head coach John Cooper.

The Lightning have been a perennial contender for a very long time under their current leadership, which of course includes back to back Stanley Cup championships in the 2019-20 and 2020-21 NHL seasons. Although the Lightning haven't returned to the Stanley Cup Final since, but have made the playoffs every single year since their back to back Cup runs.

The rest of the top 5 was very close with the Minnesota Wild receiving the second most votes with 4, followed by the Dallas Stars, Florida Panthers and Colorado Avalanche who all received 3 votes each.
