NHL punishes P.K. Subban for dangerous trip on Milan Lucic
Fans say it ain’t enough!

New Jersey Devils’ P.K. Subban is experienced enough in the NHL to know that was a dangerous move. On Tuesday night against the Calgary Flames, the Devils’ defenseman took out gritty forward Milan Lucic with a sneaky trip that could have badly injured the Flames’ veteran.
He was penalized on the play.
Check this out:
On Wednesday morning, the NHL Player Safety fined Subban $5,000, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for his dangerous trip.
Fans are shocked that Subban did not get more, like a suspension, seeing that it’s not the first time he uses the slew-foot in a dangerous manner to control an opponent.
That’s right: back in the preseason, Subban pulled the same move on New York Rangers enforcer Ryan Reaves, who was injured on the play.
Subban always seems to play with a fine line of what a slew-foot actually is and gets away with it, which is what he attempted to do again last night. The NHL fined him, and we have to wonder if that will be enough to stop him using that move in the future.
