Vancouver Canucks defenseman Tucker Poolman had a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety and the Department came down on him, announcing that the blue liner was suspended two games for high-sticking against Colorado Avalanche forward Kiefer Sherwood .
The incident took place midway through the third period in the Canucks’ 7-1 loss at Ball Arena in Denver on Thursday. Poolman received a match penalty and game misconduct at 10:21. Sherwood remained in the game.
This is how Poolman used his stick as a weapon - very dangerous move! His stick hit Sherwood in the side of the head and neck.
Poolman was assessed a match penalty for intent to injure on the play, which carried an automatic suspension pending a hearing as it is.
And that's exactly what he got. Two games it is for Poolman.
