The Toronto Maple Leafs had a bit of drama over the weekend after goaltender Anthony Stolarz publicly called out one of the team's top forwards.

Stolarz was not impressed by the effort his team had put out in front of him during a game against the Seattle Kraken and didn't shy away from speaking publicly about it, even clearly pointing the finger at star forward William Nylander at one point during his comments.

To be clear Stolarz wasn't wrong in what he said but there was some concern about how his comments might be received in the locker room, concerns that were quickly addressed by both Nylander and Stolarz on Monday, as well as team captain Auston Matthews.

"We're a veteran group," said Matthews on Monday. "We're all big boys. You don't need to beat around the bush. It's an easy conversation we all had and you just move on, close the door ... We gotta be better and we will be."

Nylander, who never seems to be bothered by anything, made it clear he wasn't bothered.

"It's all good," said Nylander. "Look, we're teammates. He's a great guy. There's nothing that we need to, you know, talk about here. Yeah, he talked to me after & it’s all good. It's been no issue since."

For what it's worth it sounds like Stolarz did a good job of handling his own comments in the Maple Leafs locker room as well.

"I pulled Willy aside and we had a conversation," revealed Stolarz. "He's someone I admire & someone I respect deeply. There's a reason he's been in this league for so long. He's a hell of a player. He pushes me and I push him."

It seems like the drama has been squashed... at least for now.
