Officials miss a goal in Game 7, but the play is overturned.

Good thing we have video review.

The Pittsburgh Penguins are very grateful for the inception of video review right now.

We had a controversial moment in the opening period of Game 7 between the aforementioned Penguins and the New York Rangers on Sunday night when the National Hockey League officials on the ice completely missed a good goal. The Penguins were warming the net and, as he had throughout the period, Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin was holding down the fort, but Penguins forward Danton Heinen just barely managed to get the puck over the line for the game tying goal.

Although the officials on the ice would miss the call, the call would come down from the National Hockey League's central command to blow the play dead and award the Penguins a goal. The clock was reset to the correct time, and we now have a tie game.

Here's a look at the initial sequence as well as the video replays that would lead to the NHL ruling this a good goal.
