The Winnipeg Jets suffered their ninth straight loss on Sunday when they tasted defeat at the hands of the defending Stanley Cup Champions, the Carolina Hurricanes, but it's how they lost that game that has everyone talking about the current state of the Jets.

Despite desperately needing to snap their losing streak coming into this one, the Jets on Sunday were dominated by the Hurricanes with the final score a brutal 7 - 0 blowout in favor of the Hurricanes. It was so bad that following the game Jets head coach Scott Arniel called the loss embarrassing and even threw his players under the bus for not putting up a better effort on the ice.

Arniel though wasn't the only man being critical of the Jets, with former National Hockey League player Paul Bissonnette effectively eulogizing he Jets' season in spite of the fact that we're only in early November. Bissonnette didn't pull any punches either, taking aim at Jets general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff and the Winnipeg Jets management team/front office by declaring that they had fumbled the Connor Hellebuyck trade.

"The Winnipeg Jets might be toast," said Bissonnette on Sunday. "Damn I feel terrible for you fans. The Helley trade may have broke you. That’s why you can’t just fold in trades."

It's hard to argue with Bissonnette given the truly abysmal results the Jets have had as of late, but the Jets will look to avoid taking their losing streak into the double digits when they face the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday.
