Ref Joannette’s leg bends the wrong way: he needs to be escorted off the ice
That had to hurt and it’s not fun to watch…

This had to hurt and it was such a stupid play. Referee Marc Joannette was at the wrong place at the wrong time during the game between the Boston Bruins and Detroit Red Wings.
As he was off to the corner of the ice, he was inadvertently tripped by Bruins’ Jakub Zboril’s stick and lost balance. As he fell to the ice, Joannette’s skate blade caught in the ice and forced his knee to twist the wrong way…
He was unable to get up on his own: the Bruins’ trainer made his way to the official and helped him off the ice with the aid of captain Patrice Bergeron.
This is what happened, and it’s just not fun to watch...
The game went on with just one referee, Kendrick Nicholson, who worked the ice with Joannette today.
We will him to get better soon.
