Refs make worst penalty call after Crosby complained to them!

The Colorado Avalanche might have gotten away with the win over the Pittsburgh Penguins last night, but it was no thanks to the officials. Fans complained about the penalty call made on returning defenseman Bowen Byram, who was sent to the box for hooking against Brian Dumoulin during the first period.

The problem is that the call is ridiculous - there is no hooking there. It happens that referees make the wrong call, however this one took place - as many fans pointed out on social media - after Penguins captain Sidney Crosby went over to the officials and appear to complain.

Moments later, as fans keep saying, the worst call was made on Byram, who headed to the box with no idea why he was there.

Fans are always complaining about how much Crosby… well, complains. We don’t know what was the discussion between the captain and the referees, though it’s easy to admit that Byram’s move shouldn’t have been penalized.

And so, fans will either blame the NHL or Crosby - and Crosby is the culprit here for them.

It’s not the first time, and until Crosby still skates in this league, it won’t be the last.
