Report: NHL salary cap to go up in 2022-23!

According to a report from NHL insider Pierre LeBrun, the NHL salary cap is expected to rise by $1 million from $81.5 to $82.5 million next season.

I've got to say... this is a bit surprising to me. After months and months of NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly warning general managers and owners that it will take years for the league to recover financially from the impact of COVID-19.
Frankly, I was half expecting the NHL's salary cap to actually decrease over the next couple seasons. To see the league growing is certainly an encouraging sign.
