Rumor: The Canucks may not be done making changes.

A very interesting detail has leaked out.

We have some more interesting details on the shakeup in Vancouver, and they may be a sign of more things to come.

First and foremost let's get to the big news of the day for those of you who may have missed. On Sunday National Hockey League insider Elliotte Friedman revealed that a coaching change had been made in Vancouver, although the details of how and when exactly that went down are still a little murky.

What we do know is that former Minnesota Wild head coach Bruce Boudreau has been brought in to take over behind the bench of the Vancouver Canucks, replacing what I assume is now former head coach Travis Green. The Canucks have not officially announced anything yet, and although it seems almost certain that Green has been fired I am still awaiting official confirmation.

Now onto the rumblings surrounding this move. Perhaps the most interesting detail comes to us courtesy of Canucks game host Satiar Shah, who has just revealed that the decision to hire Bruce Boudreau did not come from the Canucks management team. This is a huge nugget of information when you consider the fact that many have been calling for Canucks general manager Jim Benning to be fired, including a host of fans who were in attendance for Saturday night's embarrassing loss to the Penguins.

That is a pretty tenuous connection to make I will admit, but the fact that the Canucks have been radio silent as all this news has been breaking is curious in its own right. Normally teams rush out announcements if the news breaks before they can release it themselves, but so far nothing has been forthcoming from the Canucks. Sportsnet's Dan Murphy has speculated that there may indeed be something more coming down the pipeline from the Canucks, and has cited exactly this as his reason for believing so.

The fact that management was seemingly kept in the dark about this appears to indicate that ownership has lost faith in their ability to do their jobs, so perhaps the fans who were chanting "Fire Benning" at Rogers Arena last night will get what they asked for.

Update: TSN's Darren Dreger has now indicated more is on the way.
