Ryan Reaves tells what he’ll do to P.K. Subban to make him pay
Wow! If I were Subban, I’d be afraid…

New York Rangers’ Sammy Blais was P.K. Subban’s latest victim and unfortunately for the forward, he was badly injured and will be out for the remainder of the season with a serious ACL injury. The Rangers’ player was hit by what could be called a slew foot from Subban - yes another one - and went down awkwardly. He could be heard yelling in pain on the ice.
This is not the first time this season Subban has been caught using this dangerous move on opponents. Monday night’s play on Blais was very close to the same play that took place in a preseason game back in October. In that incident, Subban slew-footed enforcer Ryan Reaves.
The enforcer has a plan set for the next time he meets Subban on the ice.
“It’s a close game, Subban’s not going to fight me,” Reaves said, per the New York Post. “What’s going to happen, I’m going to go cross-check him, take a penalty, and they’re on the power play?
“I think I’d rather try and catch him with his head down with a hit or something like that. I know who’s going to fight me and who I’m going to have a chance to go after and he definitely isn’t one of them.”
Reaves made the comments after fighting in his Rangers’ 3-2 win over the Montreal Canadiens against Michael Pezzetta.
While he doesn’t think he’ll get a shot at fighting Subban, he certainly has a plan to make him pay.
This season, Subban has pulled the slew foot on many opponents. He pulled the move on Milan Lucic of the Calgary Flames, and Trevor Zegras of the Anaheim Ducks. The league fined Subban $5,000 for the Lucic slew-foot. When he did the same to Zegras, George Parros opted to hand out another fine, this time for $15,000. Basically pocket of change for the defenseman making $9M per year.
We bet Reaves’ payback could be more costly…
