Ryan Suter doesn’t want a video tribute in his return to Minnesota!
He’s still pissed at the Wild:

Things quickly turned sour between the Minnesota Wild and Ryan Suter this summer when the veteran defenseman found out that he had been bought out by the team, after it had done the same with forward Zach Parise. This was a shocking news for Suter, who was talking to Parise about his contract buyout when he learned he was joining him. He was stunned and never saw it coming. Rival teams jumped at the chance to sign the veteran blue liner, who finally agree on opening day of free agency, to ink a deal with the Dallas Stars. He agreed to sign a four-year contract, his cap hit is $3.625M.
On Thursday night, Suter and the Stars will be in Minnesota as the blue liner will face his former team for the first time. When discussing the event on broadcast, Michael Russo of The Athletic revealed how Suter wants nothing to do with the Wild, saying he does not want a video tribute on the jumbotron at center ice.
Suter is clearly still pissed at the Wild. He saw the final four years of his 13-year deal with Minnesota bought out in July and does not want to be celebrated by the club who pulled the sneaky move on him.
The 36-year-old had made it clear to reporters when he signed with the Stars that he was hoping to make the Wild regret letting him go.
“To win a Stanley Cup would mean the world to me, and that’s what I’m going to Dallas to do.”
Not sure if the Wild cares about what Suter feels in terms of a video tribute. We would understand how Minnesota and its fans would want to thank Suter for the good years.
After all, the fanbase is not the want who bought him out…
