The rivalry between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Ottawa Senators is a bitter one with no love lost between both the players and the fans on either side of the equation. For that reason fans of both teams love relishing in the misery of their opponents and on Saturday night the Senators fan base got to do something they haven't been able to do in quite some time.

The Maple Leafs are of course in the midst of a terrible season and on Saturday night they had to travel to Ottawa to face their rivals in what was a one-sided beatdown on the part of the Senators. The Maple Leafs were dominated from bell to bell with the Senators nearly outshooting the Leafs 3 to 1 over the course of the full game.

It was an ugly game for the Leafs, one that started off terribly with William Nylander injuring his own goaltender, but before it was all over the Senators faithful in attendance made sure to add insult to injury.

In one of the more creative and cruel chants of the season, the Sens fans in attendance began to chant about the team's recent split with Vegas Golden Knights star forward Mitch Marner.

"You need Marner! You need Marner! You need Marner!" the crowd could be heard chanting over and over again.

It's just been that kind of season for the Maple Leafs so far and unfortunately for them it still isn't over.
