Scary stuff. When Trouba's out there, you better keep your head up.

Seth Jarvis' season came to an abrupt end during Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semi-Final between the New York Rangers and the Carolina Hurricanes earlier this week.

The Hurricanes forward took an absolutely ENORMOUS hit from Rangers defenseman Jacob Trouba early in the game and left for the entirety of the game.

Here's the hit in question:

Trouba is, of course, no stranger to controversial hits... especially in this post-season. But, to me, this is a clean hit. Sure Trouba drives through Jarvis and makes contact with Jarvis' head, but it's clear that he's not targeting Jarvis' head. In other words: Clean hit. Nothing to see here.

Unfortunately for Jarvis, it appears that he has suffered some pretty serious effects from that hit.

From Hurricanes insider Walt Ruff:

Scary stuff, but honestly it was a clean hit. Unfortunately these things will happen in a physical sport like hockey. All the best to Jarvis, love the kid and the style of game that he plays.
