This one hurts to watch.

Things got pretty rough between the Boston Bruins and Detroit Red Wings on Saturday night with several altercations between the two teams over the course of a hard fought and tightly contested game between two Atlantic Division rivals.

We were treated to fisticuffs, including a surprising showdown between Red Wings star defenseman Mortiz Seider and Bruins forward Mark Kastelic that ended poorly for Seider, as well as big hits throughout this one. It would be Bruins forward Tanner Jeannot however who would have arguably the biggest hit of the night when he showed no mercy to Red Wings rookie defenseman Axel Sandin-Pellika.

Sandin-Pellika was trying to gain the red line to dump the puck a little less than midway through the game's third period but he would never make it there. As Sandin-Pellika tried to close the distance to the red line, Jeannot lined him up for a thunderous body check along the boards. The hit would send Sandin-Pellika into the boards at a very painful looking angle, causing his back to bend the wrong way as Jeannot nearly drove him over the boards and into the bench with significant force.
