Updates on Larkin, Raymond, and Faulk on Sunday
Much of the talk around the Detroit Red Wings has been concern regarding the health and status of Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin, concerns that were amplified on Saturday morning after the Red Wings made an emergency call up from the American Hockey League.
Thankfully it now seems as though those concerns can be put to rest with Red Wings head coach Todd McLellan sharing an update on several players following a team skate on Saturday morning.
McLellan shared the first official update on Larkin when he confirmed to the media that Larkin would be traveling with the team on their upcoming 4 games road trip. That being said McLellan also confirmed that Larkin is dealing with something and confirmed that it would cause Larkin to miss at least this Sunday's game against the New Jersey Devils.
On a more positive note the Red Wings will have veteran defenseman Justin Faulk in the lineup on Sunday, with Faulk acquired by Red Wings general manager Steve Yzerman during yesterday's National Hockey League Trade Deadline.
There was also some concern regarding Red Wings forward Lucas Raymond who was absent from practice on Saturday but McLellan confirmed Raymond is good to go for Sunday's game, adding that Raymond was merely taking a maintenance day.
Not all good news but the big takeaway today will be that Larkin appears to have avoided the worst of it.
