Toews in hot water over Hawks’ scandal, fans demand he be stripped of captaincy!
Toews, out as Hawks’ captain?

Earlier this week, former Chicago Blackhawks draft pick Kyle Beach came forward and revealed that he is in fact “John Doe”, Brad Aldrich’s victim from the team’s sexual assault scandal, it’s been a whirlwind of outrage around the NHL.
Aldrich served nine months in prison and was convicted for sexually assaulting a teenage boy in 2014, just four years after he was dismissed from the Blackhawks. But, as we now know, the Blackhawks allowed Aldrich to remain on staff for nearly a month after the team was made aware of his assault on Beach. The team included Aldrich in its Stanley Cup celebrations that offseason, even inviting him to a team party where Beach was also present. Once all of that (and so much more) was made public, the fans' backlash was outstanding.
That backlash has also fallen upon Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews, who bears no responsibility for the coverup of the sexual assault of Beach. The captain claims he didn’t hear about the assault until training camp the next year. During that training camp, according to the report, Beach said multiple players asked him if he “missed his boyfriend, Brad.” Toews is not mentioned in the report’s findings. Beach and other former players, like Brent Sopel and Nick Boynton, said everyone in the dressing room knew about the assault.
And yet, no one said anything. As a captain, Toews is now in hot water for acting like a sheep, and a coward. To make things worse, Toews praised his former GM, Stan Bowman, saying he and MacIssac are good men…
While some could be quick to forgive because Toews was just 22 at the time, let me remind you something: Beach was just 20! During the 2010 Hawks’ Stanley Cup run, you could hear everyone stated that Toews was mature and a remarkable leader.
Well, no, he is not.
And this may sound harsh to some people, but if it does : do not go on social media where Toews is not only in hot water : he is cooked! Check out some very strong statements made about the captain as some fans even demand Toews be stripped of his captaincy for his lack of actions and support towards Beach:
