Trade rumors: Cup contender in the market for a center
Heavy competition on the trade market! Which team will land the best available?
HockeyFeed
The trade market is already crowded and the season is not even underway.
Pittsburgh Penguins general manager Jim Rutherford revealed yesterday that he was shopping around to find a good fit for the center of his third lin, but he will face heavy competition.
New York Ranger GM Jeff Gorton also revealed that he is looking to land a centerman on the market, but he is aware he is not the only team looking at the options.
The Boston Bruins confirmed having received several calls about forward Ryan Spooner. The Pens and the New Jersey Devils have called about it. Will the Rangers pick up the phone too?
Gorton is hoping that for now, J.T. Miller can fill the void for now at center.
He might change his tune once he finds what he is looking for on the market.
