From one controversial pick to another. Thoughts?

This just in, USA Hockey has announced that Minnesota Wild GM Bill Guerin will be Team USA's general manager for the upcoming 2022 Winter Olympics, replacing now disgraced former GM Stan Bowman.

As stated by NHL insider Frank Seravalli above, New York Rangers GM Chris Drury has been named as Guerin's assistant.

To me, Guerin seems like the perfect fit for this team. He's relatively young in comparison to other hockey executives, but he's not so young as to not have any real experience. Guerin has been around the block since retiring in 2010, having spent nearly a decade with the Pittsburgh Penguins before joining the Wild in 2019.

Still, there are fans out there who are not happy with his appointment as GM of Team USA. And, from what I can tell, it's mainly due to a sexual assault case that rocked the Penguins' AHL affiliate Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins while Guerin was with the team as an executive.

Despite the fact that Guerin was cleared of any wrongdoing, fans are still not happy that he was hired. Guerin emphatically denied that he attempted to cover up allegations from former AHL coach Jarrod Skalde that his wife Erin Skalde had been sexually assaulted by another former AHL coach John Donatelli. Skalde maintains that he went to Guerin, his superior in the organization, with details of the assault and that Guerin failed to report it further up the line. Again, Guerin denies this and was ultimately cleared of any wrongdoing. To me, that's where things end... but not everyone is so satisfied. Thoughts?
