On Tuesday, the Buffalo Sabres placed defenseman Christian Wolanin on waivers, and the Los Angeles Kings snagged him off the wire.
The Kings claimed the blue liner on Wednesday, he who had been claimed off at first by the Sabres back on October 16, 2021 from those same Kings.
Wolanin only suited up once for the Sabres on November 8 in a game against the Washington Capitals. In that contest, he recorded zero points and a -2 plus / minute in 8:18 of time on ice.
The Kings choose to re-claim Wolanin the franchise will be able to assign him directly to the American Hockey League.
In the meantime, only one other player was placed on waivers and that is Kirill Semyonov, who is on unconditional waivers by the Toronto Maple Leafs for the purpose of contract termination.
He had been held without a point in his first three appearances with the Maple Leafs and was likely to keep shuffling between the AHL and NHL levels frequently this season.
This might have led to his contract termination.
