16 NHL scouts spotted at one game, major trade rumors follow.
A ton of action at a single game last night.
HockeyFeed
It's trade deadline season in the National Hockey League and teams are seriously ramping up their efforts when it comes to scouting.
One game last night drew a particularly large level of interest among NHL franchises, with no less than 16 scouts represented at the game. That game was the match up between the Minnesota Wild and the Calgary Flames.
While the Flames will undoubtedly be sellers at the deadline, the shear number of scouts at the game may indicate that Minnesota also intends to sell at the deadline after plummeting down the rankings.
Here's a look at some of the more attractive rental options from both clubs,
The Flames:
Center - Jiri Hudler
Defenseman - Kris Russell
Goaltender - Jonas Hiller(unlikely)
The Wild:
Winger - Justin Fontaine
Center- Jarrett Stoll
Center - Ryan Carter
Winger - Chris Porter
Goaltender - Niklas Backstrom(extrremely unlikely - no movement clause)
Now here's a look at the huge number of scouts who were present at the game.
Is the trade deadline coming up? Just a modest 16 scouts in attendance at the dome for CGY-MIN tonight. #Flames pic.twitter.com/mZfAGGTYSJ
