This past weekend a Montreal Canadiens fan named Tammy Whitehead shared a video to Facebook of her nephew Anderson meeting his idol Montreal Canadiens star goalie Carey Price. Anderson tragically lost his mother to cancer last year, but before she passed away she promised that she would do everything she could to make Anderson’s dream of meeting Price come true.

Unfortunately, Laura Whitehead passed away from cancer on November 7. She was just 43 years old.

However, as the video went viral earlier this week, you know his dream still came true:

On Friday, Anderson spoke about his meeting with his idol and how he thought of his mother as he held Price in a tight hug after the team's morning skate.

"That turned into him giving me a big hug, telling me everything would be okay," he said to TSN.

"She would've been so happy for me."

Price posed for a picture with Anderson before signing his jersey and giving him two signed sticks and a signed puck. Anderson's father, Kevin, couldn't believe that his final efforts in his wife's hard work had been successful and allow his son to see his dream come true.

As reported by TSN, Kevin asked his brother Paul, in a last resort, to help him get in touch with the Canadiens. Through treatment for a shoulder injury, Paul got to know the former athletic therapist of the Toronto Maple Leafs, who happened to know the current one for the Canadiens. It finally came around and the team got in touch with Kevin.

"It's unbelievable," Kevin said. "I can't lie I broke down in tears, just embraced Anderson after he was done."
"There's no dream more that she tried for in her life to give him than this. I know from up above this means everything to her."

We hope that the meeting with Price has lifted the spirits of young Anderson during this difficult time.

"Carey Price was an absolute gentleman," his aunt Tammy said. "Such a precious and special moment for Anderson that he will never forget."
