After being cut by the Blues Scott Gomez gets another tryout.

I have never been a fan of Nation Hockey League forward Scott Gomez, I didn't dislike him as a player, I simply felt he was overrated at certain stages of his career, no fault of his own. However that has changed.

Over the past two seasons of his career, I have come to greatly respect Gomez, and while his performance on the ice hasn't been spectacular, his will and his desire to convenient playing hockey at an NHL level has become undeniable.

Several times it appeared Gomez's career was over, the latest of these being his release from the St. Louis Blues earlier this season, and every single time thus far Gomez has answered the challenge and proved doubters wrong, and today is no exception.

The Washington Capitals have announced the signing of Gomez to a professional tryout with their AHL affiliate Hershey. While Gomez will be playing in the AHL rather than the NHL, it's clear he's a depth addition for the Capitals upcoming playoff run, and you can be sure that played a major role in Gomez's decision to sign with Hershey.

It looks like the NHL career of Scott Gomez still has a pulse.
