It was expected, but it’s not what fans hoped to hear…
A third player on the Colorado Avalanche has tested positive for COVID-19, the National Hockey League announced on Tuesday.
The player is reportedly in self-isolation and has not come into close contact with any otherAvalanche players or staff members.
This is officially the eighth positive test for the novel coronavirus in the NHL as the Ottawa Senators have five positive cases.
When the shutdown was put in order on March 12, there were 189 games remaining on the calendar.
This could delay any scenario looking to resume play and get the postseason ready for the summer.
