Auston Matthews has taken the NHL by storm in his first season, and he isn't planning on stopping anytime soon.

During Sunday's matchup between the Toronto Maple leafs and Carolina Hurricanes, the Leafs' rookie phenom scored one of the season's prettiest goals. 

This year's first-overall draft selection scored by sliding the puck in on the backhand, while behind dragged down by defenseman Phillip Di Giuseppe midway through the second period.

The 19-year old now has 28 goals on the season, which puts him in a tie for third in the NHL and tied with Sabres' forward Patrick Laine for most among rookies.
