The New York Rangers fan base has just received some great news courtesy of superstar goaltender Henrik Lundqvist.

Lundqvist suffered a knee injury during his time at the International Ice Hockey Federation World Championship in May but on Thursday, during the European Player Media Tour, he revealed that he had already made his return to the ice.

"I've been skating a few times now and I feel good," Lundqvist said as per NHL.com. "Obviously, I have some work ahead of me, but it's a similar feeling. … When you step on the ice, that's the time for me when I really ramp it up and increase the workload, and I enjoy that."

Lundqvist suffered an MCL sprain while helping his home country of Sweden achieve the gold medal at the aforementioned World Championship, and while fans may view that as a setback as far as the Rangers are concerned, Lundqvist believes winning gold with Sweden will be a positive for this upcoming season.

"It was really nice," he said. "Even though we lost in New York and it was disappointing, to go and finish the season the way I did with Sweden I think it's going to help me going into this year."

Lundqvist is expected to be fully recovered well before the start of the regular season barring any setbacks.
