Big update on Matt Duchene trade rumors.

One of the biggest rumors from the past two days appears to be officially dead.

Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman is now reporting that Colorado Avalanche forward Matt Duchene will not be going to the Nashville Predators as part of a trade deal, this despite the fact that both Nashville and the Columbus Blue Jackets were working on making that deal a reality.

The news gathered steam today as there were rumors of a trade between the Avalanche and Predators, and while that trade did happen it was a much, much smaller deal than a Duchene trade would be. 

Friedman did not touch on whether or not the Blue Jackets remain in the mix, or if other teams are still talking to Avs general manager Joe Sakic, but the deal to Nashville is dead.
