The Chicago Blackhawks have not had the season that they were expecting this season and as a result there have already been a number of significant changes made in the organizatrion. General manager Stan Bowman has not only seen fit to make a number of trades already this season but he also relieved head coach Joel Quenneville of his duties behind the Blackhawks bench in the most high profile coach firing of the season thus far.

Bowman is not not retooling things in the Blackhawks organization and it sounds like more roster moves are the most likely changes to come in the immediate future. In a recent article for The Athletic Chicago Blackhawks insider Scott Powers revealed that the Blackhawks have been shopping at least 3 of their current roster players. None of them are world beaters to be sure but it's an indication that Bowman still feels changes need to be made to get his team back to their winning ways on a more consistent basis.

From Powers:

As for current players, according to a league source, Marcus Kruger, Chris Kunitz and Andreas Martinsen have been mentioned be available for trade by the Blackhawks.

Perhaps the most interesting name on this list is Kunitz's. The veteran winger has simply not been a good fit for the Blackhawks, or vice versa depending on how you wish to look at it, and it has felt like the organization has been frustrated with him for some time now. The issues with Kunitz of course is that he currently benefits from a full no movement clause in his contract, one that effectively allows him to block any sort of trade from the Blackhawks if he wishes to do so.

Powers believes that Kruger is the player that will draw the most interest from around the National Hockey League. The 28 year old center has continued to fill a versatile roll on the Blackhawks roster and could certainly be viewed as a valuable veteran asset for playoff teams looking for that extra depth before a long playoff run. Kruger has appeared in 42 games for the Blackhawks this season and has 4 goals and 3 assists to his name fore a total of 7 points. He has also accumulated 16 penalty minutes on the season and currently boasts a plus minus rating of -1.

Martinsen was recently waived and sent down to the minors so I think it's safe to say there has been little to no interest in him from other teams.
