Some information has come out that makes the National Hockey League's decision to suspend Dennis Wideman for a whopping 20 games a little questionable.

According to the NHL's official explanation on the suspension, Wideman was in fact diagnosed with a concussion by medical staff, this despite the fact that Wideman remained in the game which is likely to bring up a whole different set of issues. It also raises the question of just how cognisant of his actions was Wideman when he delivered the blow to Don Henderson.

Speaking of Henderson, TSN hockey insider Bob Mckenzie has revealed that he also suffered a concussion as a result of the brutal hit he received, which would explain his time spent in hospital as well as his continued absence from the game. According to McKenzie Henderson is now going through concussion protocol.
