The Tampa Bay Lightning may have suffered a big loss in the opening period of Game 7 on Saturday night.
In the final 3 minutes of the game's opening period the Lightning appeared to lose forward Brayden Point when Point fell awkwardly along the boards and appeared to injure his right leg. At this time it is too early to give you any update on the current status of Point, but based on his body language I would wager it is unlikely he will return to tonight's game.
Update: Point is back out for the second period.
Update 2: Point looks like he may not be able to continue in spite of his return to the ice.
Point immediately clutched at his right leg when his leg twisted and appeared to have an agonized look on his face as he writhed in pain on the ice. Perhaps even more telling than the pain he appeared to be in though was the way he left the ice. Point appeared to be unable to put any weight on his seemingly injured right leg as he made his way back to the Tampa Bay locker room, something that would appear to indicate that his right leg is currently in rough shape.
