Breaking: 19 players hit the waiver wire, including 2 former first rounders!

Once again, several NHL players hit the waiver wire on Wednesday. While only one player from yesterday’s crop was claimed, Jordan Nolan moves to the Buffalo Sabres, a few names on today’s list may pique the interest of general managers across the NHL.

The most intriguing names are the ones of former first round picks Emerson Etem and Beau Bennett. 

Selected 29th overall by the Anaheim Ducks in 2010, Etem only played three games last season with the big club. In 173 games in the NHL, Etem recorded 22 goals and 46 points. 

Bennett was selected 20th overall in the draft of 2010 as well, by the Pittsburgh Penguins. Last season, he played for the New Jersey Devils and amassed 8 goals and 19 points in 65 games.
