Unfortunately for one young forward, the biggest injury of his National Hockey League career comes in the middle of the best season of his professional career.

According to a breaking news report from John Vogl of the Buffalo News, forward Johan Larsson has informed media in his native Sweden that the has suffered a season ending injury.

Larsson has reportedly undergone corrective surgery on both his arm and elbow after he dislocated both of those in a loss to the Boston Bruins this past Saturday. The injury was suffered when he crashed hard into the boards, his arm absorbing most of the impact.

The timing couldn't be worse for Larsson who 6 goals and 5 assists in his 36 games with the Sabres tis season, on pace for the best season of his career. With the Sabres highly unlikely to find their way into playoff contention this season, it looks like Larsson will have to wait until next season to show if he can maintain this level of form.
