While it's reasonable to assume he will get hurt again, one has to wonder if there won't be a team in the National Hockey League that is willing to take a gamble on the health of Eric Gelinas.
A report from Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman has revealed that the Colorado Avalanche have made the move to place Gelinas on waivers after he appeared in just 7 games for the franchise this season. Gelinas has no goals 1 assist and is a plus minus of -1 over those 7 games.
There were rumors both at the trade deadline and the draft involving a potential trade of Gelinas, so it's clear that there are at least some teams with a level of interest in him, which would lead us to believe he may be claimed and Colorado may lose him for nothing.
We'll obviously know the answer by tomorrow when the waiver process has been completed.
