Breaking: Another Canuck headed overseas

Another failed experiment for the Linden/Benning regime.

The ZSC Lions of the Swiss National League A have announced that they’ve signed impending Vancouver Canucks restricted free agent Drew Shore to a two-year contract.

The news officially confirms that Shore will not join the Canucks for 2017-18 and will return to the league where he played much of 2016-17. You may recall that Shore was signed by the Canucks mid-season when the team ran into injury problems and needed a capable body to fill a forward roster spot. Shore performed admirably with two assists in 14 games, but was apparently not in the team’s future plans.

In 50 games with Kloten HC of the Swiss-A last season, Shore scored 24 goals and 48 points. He was one of the league’s top scorers and an enticing project for the Canucks management group of president Trevor Linden and Jim Benning. However, the Drew Shore Experiment now appears to be over. Just like the Nikita Tryamkin Experiment, the Linden Vey Experiment, the Philip Larsen Experiment, the Emerson Etem Experiment... wait, I'm noticing a trend here.
