Many fans expected the Boston Bruins to make a roster move in the wake of star forward David Pastrnak's injury, and on Wednesday that finally made the call as prospect forward Karson Kuhlman has been recalled from Providence.

It is the first time the 23-year-old has been recalled by the Bruins. He signed with the Bruins as a free agent last April. This season in Providence, he has tallied 12 goals and added 13 assists.

Kuhlman showed some decent flashes during the Bruins' training camp in September, so they could be tempted to throw him out there and see what he can bring to the team.

He will bring some depth for the upcoming trip on the West coast and could slot in for a current player.

The Bruins announced on Tuesday that they will be without leading scorer David Pastrnak for at least the next two weeks after the star winger underwent surgery to repair a thumb injury. The injury took place late Sunday night as Pastrnak fell while leaving a sponsorship dinner with teammates.

Pastrnak has enjoyed another dominant season in Boston, tallying 31 goals and 66 points this year with the Bruins. Last season, the Czech forward posted a career-high 35 goals and 80 points, and 34 and 70 one year prior.

This is surely the biggest blow to the Bruins this season, despite the team having dealt with many injuries since the start of the regular calendar back in October.
