The Vancouver Canucks continue to work towards what many believe will be a rebuild, and this seems like a very good step in the right direction.

On Friday the Vancouver Canucks announced the signing of talented prospect Jonathan Dahlen of Sweden, one of the player's acquired by the team just prior to the National Hockey League's trade deadline.

Dahlen was acquired by Vancouver as part of the deal that sent veteran Alex Burrows to the Ottawa Senators, and was widely regarded as one of the better moves made by Canucks general manager Jim Benning.

Benning released a statement on the signing:

"Jonathan is a very skilled player with good hands and goal scoring abilities," he said as per NHL.com. "He had a terrific year playing in Sweden and we're excited to see him at training camp as he continues to grow and develop into an NHL player."

Dahlen is coming off three season in Sweden's divsion 1 league,  where he had 25 goals and 19 assists for a total of 44 points in 45 games.
