Philadelphia Flyers rookie Nolan Patrick just can’t seem to catch a break. After suffering through a shoulder injury and the resulting surgery in his draft year, the 2nd overall pick from this past June’s NHL Entry Draft FINALLY got healthy for the the first time in nearly a calendar year just in time to start the season with the Flyers.

The 19-year old is just eight games into his NHL career and he appears to have already suffered his first concussion. The youngster took a heavy hit from Anaheim Ducks forward Chris Wagner behind the Flyers goal and appeared to hang his head and face into the end boards.

See it for yourself:

Ouch… that doesn’t look good. Patrick was helped off the ice and did not return. No medical update from the Flyers yet, but obviously things don’t look good. Cross your fingers, Flyers fans.
