BREAKING: Hockey Player sentenced to life in prison for killing his wife.

Thomas Clayton, a former star player with the Niagara University hockey team, was sentenced to life in prison without parole by a judge in Steuben County Court on Monday according to wgrz.com and my twintiers.com

37-year-old Thomas Clayton was found guilty on First and Second Degree Murder charges in connection the September 2015 death of his wife Kelley.

Prior to this decision, District Attorney Weeden Wetmore had mentioned, “Circumstances and facts that you rely upon in circumstantial evidence cases don’t lie. An eyewitness may say, ‘I saw somebody do something.’ But here, you take a known fact and you draw the reasonable inference from it.”

Wetmore can now say mission accomplished as he convinced the jury that the former hockey star player from Niagara University hockey team was guilty of killing his wife.

In fact, the prosecutors proved that Thomas Clayton has hired another man to murder his wife at his place.

Once again, according to wgrz.com, “A third suspect in the case, Mark Blandford, a friend of Beard’s who acted as a lookout the night Kelley Clayton was killed, was sentenced last week to three to six years in state prison.
