This just in, the NHL has released its three nominees for the 2019 Jack Adams Award as the league’s top coach for the 2018-19 season. Earning the nod this season are:
Craig Berube - St. Louis Blues
Jon Cooper - Tampa Bay Lightning
Barry Trotz - New York Islanders
All deserving candidates, clearly. Berube transformed the Blues from a basement dweller in January to a Stanley Cup contender. Ditto for Trotz who left a championship team in the offseason and came to the Islanders, a team that NO ONE predicted would have the season they had. Cooper, of course, was instrumental in the Lightning's historic 128 point regular season. Again, all deserving candidates.
