Toronto Maple Leafs forward James van Riemsdyk has been dealing with an injury that he suffered in a 3-2 victory against the Los Angeles Kings on Monday night.

He missed practice on Wednesday but he still managed to make the lineup Thursday night against the Carolina Hurricanes

Josh Leivo was a gametime decision on Thursday and expected to get his first game of the season but ended up sitting. It looks like he might finally get that start Saturday night against the Philadelphia Flyers.

Here were the lines this afternoon in Toronto.

Mitch Marner slotted back onto his spot on the second line in van Riemsdyk's absence. He'll want to make the most of this opportunity, after spending the week on the fourth line.

Meanwhile, Mike Babcock has made it pretty clear that JVR will sit the next game out to recover - giving Leivo the chance to finally play.

JVR has 9 points in 10 games this season, and has been involved in trade talks this year, as he is set to hit unrestricted free agency this summer.
